Talk:Fanon Characters: The RPG

TERMINOLOGY[edit]
(not done yet)
For people who want to add their characters, but whatever is on the character list is too confusing, OR, if you're new to RPGs, read here. (I MAY add these to the gameplay section of the actual page, but I'll keep it here for now.)
Basics[edit]
What is an RPG[edit]
this.
The field[edit]
The Field is where the battle takes place.
Characters[edit]
Whats the difference between a story-mode character and a normal character?[edit]
Story-mode characters are the main characters of their character arc, and they have a unique class-type for themselves, whereas normal characters have a preset class-type. Boss characters? We'll get to that soon.
Passive[edit]
A passive is an ability that cannot be activated through the touch of a button. They are either automatically activated at the start of a battle, or they're triggered through other circumstances (A good example is Wonderweez's Beep Boop passive, where a turret is automatically placed randomly within a 4 tile radius from him on each turn.)
Abilities[edit]
Abilities can be acivated by the player on their turn. Only one ability can be activated on a single turn.
Class-types[edit]
| “ | The Class-types basically determine the base statistics of the character. For example, Nat with her berserker class has a very high physical attack stat (+++) but an extremely low magic attack stat (---) and rather low defenses overall (-- for magic defense and - for physical defense). Only the story chracters and boss characters (will be implemented soon) should have unique class-types. | ” |

Theme Song[edit]
The music that plays when the character is a boss in another arc.
OTHER STUFF[edit]
I'm going to ask the same question I asked Mr Cow2 on his own project cuz I'm too lazy to do anything but copy-paste.
What sort of RPG gameplay do you see this game as?
- "Final Fantasy-style": Every party member of yours does something, then every party member of the enemy team does something and so forth.
- "Mario & Luigi-style": You can control your characters at any time, but you can only do significant things on your own turn or when countering attacks.
- "Fire Emblem-style": The fight takes place on a map rather than a single screen, you have to position yourself strategically to win. Permadeath is optional, kind of.
- "Pokémon-style": Recruit allies and ex-enemies for them to fight for you. The rest is similar to "Final Fantasy-style". Tiny circular prisons not included.
- "Sticker Star-style": Strength is based entirely on the things that you own. Forget conventional Leveling systems and watch the world rage in fury.

@Fooly8: It's kind of a mix between the traditional Final Fantasy style and the Fire Emblem style, although I wouldn't consider it as either of them. I would actually say its based on Card Jitsu Snow with the tiles, but with more of a RPG-based gameplay. --not amigopen 05:12, 9 January 2016 (UTC)
I'm getting a real "Live A Live" feel from this :3
(If you don't know what that is, look it up) --Mr Cow2 (talk) 06:53, 9 January 2016 (UTC)
When we connect the arcs, should we have the characters battle each other, as in boss battles? --Mr Cow2 (talk) 00:44, 10 January 2016 (UTC)
Yep, I suggest at least 2 story characters as boss battle and 5 boss battles overall for each arc, then all the arcs should connect after the last bosses in their arc. --not amigopen 01:11, 10 January 2016 (UTC)
This is gonna be fun. (no sarcasm intended) --Mr Cow2 (talk) 01:23, 10 January 2016 (UTC)
Just to check, this isn't supposed to be 100% serious right, since it's a "fanon game"? So I can make my character a character and reveal all of his secrets without it being a big deal? B)
WannaTalk? 03:41, 10 January 2016 (UTC)
And, should there be a certain amount of "classes", or is everyone their own class?
WannaTalk? 03:49, 10 January 2016 (UTC)
There's no promises, in my opinion, it'd be a lot more creative with seperate classes. --Mr Cow2 (talk) 04:05, 10 January 2016 (UTC)

Only the story chracters and boss characters (will be implemented soon) should have unique class-types. And yeah, the story doesn't have to be 100% serious. --not amigopen 04:10, 10 January 2016 (UTC)
I vote Teachy Terry for the final boss. --2016! (And this is a talk page.) 04:13, 10 January 2016 (UTC)
@Amigopen, Mr Cow2 would basically be the opposite of Nat then.

(Teachy Terry Appears)
"HEY THERE friend.! Remember me?
It's me! Terry! Teachy Terry!
Even after all the things I taught you..."
(Suddenly Teachy Terry's face becomes malicious.)
"You never realized I was using you.
You FOOL.
It's time for your final class!
What's the topic, you ask?"
(Suddenly Teachy Terry wields a knife or something)

Also, she should be a necromancer and she pulls our also me sort of undead staff instead of a knife. --Mr Cow2 (talk) 04:33, 10 January 2016 (UTC)
Aren't you guys pulling this from a certain game that is apparently immensely popular and yet I have no idea what it is? ULSK12 • Talk • Contribs • Chief of Forest Guarding Services

You know, what would really be cool would be if in one story arc, two characters connect and at the end, they gaze upon a certain area. In the next arc, two seperate characters go in to the place to explore, however, they find that most of the area's enemies have already been slaughtered in a variety of ways. The survivors have turned into psychopaths Dead Rising style and are the main bosses until they reach the very top of the unknown place, where they fine the characters from the last arc, who were behind the storming of the castle. The last boss of the arc would be two story characters against two story characters!
Would that be cool or what?
--Mr Cow2 (talk) 05:58, 10 January 2016 (UTC)
- If anyone doesn't mind me putting my thoughts, here they are. I believe that the story should have each of the main story units fighting their way into a place where a treasure of importance to each individual character is found. Unlike the anything-can-be-played-in-any-order thing, I believe that the 12 arcs should be separated into a branching tree diagram thing, so that beating one unlocks two others, then you can choose which of the other paths you'll take and all that crap, so that it actually feels like some sense of progression. Starting an arc would immediately unlock the main character in the arc, allowing later arcs to recruit pervious characters. If you are just starting out, your allies could be the placeholders, Penguin 1 and Penguin 2, both acting as clones of each other with rather standard attacks and these two placeholder would be deleted when enough main characters are recruited. However, to be able to battle against the final boss, all arcs must be completed, unlocking all of the branches. You see, each of the items each main character collects apparently would be "Items of Power", like the Destruction Gems or something. Teachy Terry would have taught each characters things to help them do his/her dirty work and when combined, the Items of Power would grant Teachy Terry a wish, like Nova on Milky Way Wishes. After this, the non-main story arcs would be introduced, which can be played in any order and they all culminate into the final final boss. But hey, those are just my idle thoughts. --2016! I vote Bernie the tour guide as a boss character :3 --Mr Cow2 (talk) 15:14, 12 January 2016 (UTC)
Music[edit]
Should we create a seperate page for the music? --Mr Cow2 (talk) 15:46, 10 January 2016 (UTC)
Timeline[edit]
You know what we should do? We could make a Fanon Characters game (or more) based on each of the famous time periods. We already have a full medieval game and one that doubles as both medieval and the pirate age. After we're done with the last one, we could connect them all, somehow.
Just a thought.
--Mr Cow2 (talk) 17:19, 10 January 2016 (UTC)
- We could use my chart of turn-based RPG types for inspiration. We already have Mario & Luigi-style and Fire Emblem-style crossover games. We could use PAPER FANON as inspiration for Sticker Star-style, and Final Fantasy-style would be ridiculously easy to do. Pokémon-style is the most complicated one thus far, though. --2016! Hey, 1 quick question[edit]
Hey, is it alright if Snow is worked into the game? --

Drawing[edit]
I would like to request the drawing of Mcdonalds394 in Fanon Characters: The RPG
- I'll be drawing all of the story characters as soon as I get to my parents house :) (That's the only place where I have a proper drawing space. And I'll also be getting the other characters) --not amigopen 04:14, 13 January 2016 (UTC)

I personally think Mr Cow2 and Nat's themes go well together.
Make them a duo boss.
It would also work well because they're pretty much evenly matched characters. Nat's power can be seen by just looking at her stats, but Mr Cow2 has a variety of ranged attacks due to his Roulette attack with the longest range being the ice attack and the shortest being either the plant or fire attacks. Plus, his passive ability, Free Healing. It would be hard for the player to decide which one to knock out first.

That was before Amigo left us.
Normally I'd try to revive this and make the stuff Amigo left with us and play by ear like I tried with the old fanon.
To put it into perspective how much Amigo's departure affected me, if I were to rank all the people I've met on this fanon, AmigoPen would've been at the top of the list.
She was a really big inspiration to me, and with these past few months continually and relentlessly beating down my soul, I'll give my verdict on this. I think it's best to just lay this thing to rest.
If you need me, I'll be locking myself in a closet and be crying about how much of a mess my life has become.
