  • So where do I fit in? I'm not leftist or rightist but more right-leaning centrist :). Also some Anarchists have good points; Anarcho-Capitalism is a good idea. And Dick Chenny and Sarah Palin are far-right as well.--Agent Johnson |  I'm Brit-ish and cause of that, I'm Liberal. 00:14, 7 May 2011 (UTC)
  • I thought you were somewhat liberal..but..hey I'm the only liberal here on the wiki. I feel like I'm in Texas. D:-- Sanchonachos Being Liberal Rocks! 01:19, 7 May 2011 (UTC)
    • In Britain I'd be considered a Conservative; the way I'd described myself is as a Classical liberal.--Agent Johnson |  I'm Brit-ish and cause of that, I'm Liberal. 12:39, 7 May 2011 (UTC)
      • "Classical 'liberalism'", ironically, holds most of the current position of the general GOP/Republicans. It emphasized the individual and his or her responsibility to look after him or herself, a small government, low taxes, and freedom from government interference. Wikipedia summarizes it as this, and I've bolded the Republican assertions. Bolded italics are held by almost every Republican and stated explicitly as a partisan doctrine, while bold mainly exists as a consequence of asserting the bolded italics.
Classical liberalism is a philosophy committed to the ideal of limited government, liberty of individuals including freedom of religion, speech, press, assembly, and free markets.

        [...]
</br />In the late 19th century, classical liberalism developed into neo-classical liberalism, which argued for government to be as small as possible in order to allow the exercise of individual freedom...
      • The Tea Party, as a whole- (Sarah Palin =/= Tea Party) -arguably, is classical liberalist, but certainly more of a libertarian group than a classical liberal one. The main difference between CLs and Libertarians is how far they're willing to reduce government. Many CLs, for exmplae, can handle or are fine with New Deal stuff like Medicare and Social Security, but the strongest of Libertarians want it all gone.

  • To be perfectly honest I have no idea where I fit in. I should make Freezeland's parties. Remember, Freezeland isn't judge-ruled, it's a republic. -- Triskelle3 Talk to me! 13:25, 9 May 2011 (UTC)

  • I can't lay myself into any one faction easily. I can say what side of the spectrum I'm on (the right wing), and I can say what type of the right I'm on (conservatism), but from there, it's hard. I can place myself in multiple ones, depending on the topic. I don't consider myself a part of the Tea Party because they don't take a strong enough stand on social issues like marriage: they're almost entirely economic.
    • When it comes to morals and the law, I am, without a question or thought, socially conservative. This is a tenant of the Republican Party.
    • In regards to governmental budgeting, I see mainly myself as fiscally conservative; this means that I believe that a government can not spend a dime over what it takes in, period. However, I sometimes drop my fiscal conservatism if balancing the budget means screwing over old people (see below).
      • I also believe in the free market/capitalism, but I think that regulation has a very important place, even in a free market, because if regulation doesn't exist, greed will compromise safety and start hurting consumers and society. In industries where people's health and well being is on the line (medicines, food, water, etc.), these need to be regulated because they can kill if not. Many businessmen aren't out for the customer or the greater good, just their wallets. It is the duty of regulatory bodies to balance profit with safety, going to neither extreme (i.e. crippling business or total laizes-faire).
    • As to Social Security, Medicare, and things that help people who are literally incapable of working and helping themselves, I have to say that I strongly support them and despise cuts. This is a rarer branch of the right called compassionate conservatism.
    • As for Marxism, I just say no. The only purpose of socialism/Marxism is to patch up the flaws of capitalism: a social safety net for those who need it most. (A twenty five year old homeless man in good health does not deserve tax money, because he can go and work and get a job. An eighty five year old poverty-line geezer deserves tax money because he can't go and earn his way. So too with a twenty five year old homeless man who is disabled or mentally damaged to the point that he or she can not work.

Personally, I can place myself on the left-side of politics. I think it's way better to have diplomacy than a Bush-led, pointless war for oil. I am socially liberal, as I believe in gay rights, individuality, multi-party democracy, freedom, fair elections, environmental sustainability and less war. In terms of fiscal, I am liberal as well, I support debt spending in emergencies, as of now, a lot of the countries in the world at the moment are in debt. It isn't the 1850's anymore, in which the government could actually stay in budget. I believe taxes are an important part as well. Although they are a pain in the butt, taxes allow the government to build new roads, and fund schools. But, I believe in the free market and globalization as well.-- Sanchonachos Being Liberal Rocks! 20:19, 9 May 2011 (UTC)

Sarah Palin is not Classical liberal; she's Libertarian. She believes is insane things. Me, I am Centrist, right-leaning One nation conservative (a sort of 'Third Way' kind of policy) but I've began to lean a bit more to the Thatherite wing. I am a Liberal conservative; gay rights (to some extent; civil partnerships are fine), freedom, fair elections, war in cases such as Libya or Afghanistan etc. Heck, I even supported Alternative vote. Fiscally, I am Conservative, believe it or not. Although I do support the government investing in projects for the people, if you got a debt as big as America, then if I was American, I would be undecided on whether to vote Democrat or Rpeublican. And if the debt increase, no one will pay it off; the banks leant too much money to Iceland, look what crap it got us into. Lehman Brothers anyone? Leant too much money and we had a recession. Imagine if every country was in debt. Economically, I am Liberal. I strongly believe in Capitalism, Globalization, Free trade and that we should have a massive free market. Provided there are competition laws, corperations do more good than harm; if we had one government owned corperation, there would be one fixed price, which would not rise or lower and the government could just pay a low wage. Because of no competition, no one would invest in it. Finally, I am not a NeoCon; in the UK, we hate them. Screw you Bush, you were more agressive against Osama bin Laden but the Liberal Barrack kills him. Lol.

And to prove that Sarah Palin is not a Classical liberal, please see this ([1]). Sarah is a Tea Party member; a far right, Muslim hating woman. If we must have a Republican has President, please make sure he's a New Englander. Classical liberals are centre right (or in my view) or right leaning Centrists.

A suggestion for America and Canada; cut back/forward on Welfare and introduce the universal credit. Also have more charter schools and school vouchers. Thank you.--Agent Johnson |  I'm Brit-ish and cause of that, I'm Liberal. 21:21, 9 May 2011 (UTC)
