The Forbidden Vault is a vault held deep beneath the Bureau of Fiction. It is, by way of various elements, indestructible and impenetrable, only through it's door can it be accessed. This door, by way of Wutt Energy, holds on it every lock and security feature that ever exists, existed or will ever exist(it has generated multiple doors for itself, each door is 5m2), even from other universes(just for good measure). It is apparantly as old as the Bureau, which is older that the universe proper.

History[edit]

The vault's past is surrounded in mystery, mainly because all details of the vault's construction and early history are inside the vault, which requires every key, keycard, password, etc... to enter. The earliest surviving record of the vaults existance is in 1835, when a young adult Penguin employed by the Bureau to as part of the cleaning staff stumbled across it, he does not specifically say where he found it though in his journal:

I have found what I have been looking for, the rumoured Wall of Keys! Behind it, treasures that even the Masters of The Universe were not supposed to know about! It does however live up to its name, I have so far been unable to break into it.

As you can see, the penguin mentions its difficulty to enter, he clearly wants to break into the vault and use whatever is inside. Another diary, by another Bureau employee, provides slightly more infomation:

25th May 1844 Well, the Walls of Keys, I never thought I would find the object that has been my life's work to locate and destroy. The mission I was tasked with by the Masters is finally nearing completion. Unfortunatly, the statement in the only record of the Wall that implies that it is difficult to break into still holds strong, my gunpowder supply has run out.

The Vault has never been disturbed after that, the Masters having concluded that it is impossible to force entry.

Items Contained Within[edit]

Omega Terminal[edit]

The Tome of Fiction, UCA
[[File:FictionalTome.png|250px]]
5,423 Pages, 5,423! Yes, that is Latin on the cover.
Information
Type Object of Great Importance
Effects Storing all the Articles, all of them!
Source Whatever created the universe.
Location The BoF
Cost to buy Infinityx10Infinity.
Cost to sell Same as above...

Simply a master control terminal for the Bureau, a very souped up Collosus Mark 2 computer (seriously, it's on par with the latest computer tech or higher, you never know). It is the only narration device that can bypass Director Benny's laptop. It also comes with every form of drawing medium, with a seemingly infinite supply of drawing, painting and scetching supplies), also attached are several monitors (with picture and picture) that can display anywhere, anywhen.

Tome of Fiction[edit]

A 5,423 page book, its text is very difficult to read, mainly due to it flashing between HTML, binary, octal, hexadecimal codes, wikicode and its actual formatting (Although the covers stay constantly at Latin). It crackles with Wutt Energy.

Eldritch Phone[edit]

An early telephone that reincarnates the dead and can bestow immortality. Works across space and time when connected to the Omega Terminal, otherwise it only works within the vault.

Arcane Crucible[edit]

Can convert energy into matter and vise-versa and teleport objects (that can fit into it).

Notable Sercurity Measures Used[edit]

Locks[edit]

  • A lock involving lunar cycles, it only opens on a full moon.
    • Another one on the same door, but it only unlocks on a lunar eclipse.
  • A water based puzzle, utilizing several time-release and manually operated valves and a lot of pipes, the lock only opens when the correct path is taken by the water.

Others[edit]

  • An exact replica of the Antikythera Mechanism (a greek mechanism that could accurately tell the positions of the planets in their orbits along with other things), it requires to be cranked (it's used gears and isn't wind-up) several times until all the planets are in perfect alignment pointing upwards before it is unlocked.

Trivia[edit]

  • The items contained within the vault are for a specific purpose involving the biggest feedback loop ever.
  • The Omega Terminal hangs (computer term for a breakage somewhere) when told to divide by zero, yes, that quirk from early computers is still there.
