The Great Storm of 2010, also known as the Halloween Cyclone was a large-scale storm that occured all across Snowiny, the northern Sub-Antarctic islands, and all way to Frostize. It was the largest natural disaster in Snowinian history, Snowiny getting 2 weeks of rain with short breaks, causing severe economic damage, especially in Puffepelago which survived tons of flash floods.

The Storm[edit]

The storm is believed to have been formed just south of Ninja Archipelago and heading towards the southwest at a rapid speed. It reached Snowiny by October 27th and Club Penguin by the next day. Snowiny declared state of emergency on October 28th and Club Penguin the following morning. On October 30th King George Island also declared state of emergency, on November 1st Shiverpool and Frostize also joined in. With the roads very wet and slippery, sections of Highway 1 and other highways in the Antarctic Peninsula and Sub-Antarctica were shut down as a result of mudslides or just a safety precaution. Acadia also experienced large sums of rain but managed to avoid floods. The storm started to deteriorate around November 4th, and the storm was declared to be over off the coast of Frostborough.

The storm was quite a surprise for Club Penguin residents; they have never seen a cyclone go straight through their island. Rain was pretty rare in Club Penguin's area, and the area was, before 2010, referred to as the "rain-proof zone" due to its small amount of yearly rainfall compared to their continental and Snowinian neighbors. As a result, Club Penguin was also heavily affected by the rain, with many of the poorly built houses in the slums of East Club Penguin collapsing, or were swept away by mudslides. The storm caused 5 billion Fish in damage.
