The Mystery of the Puffle Resort

This tale has been told! It's done!

A spooky mystery has shrouded the Puffle Resort! Can our hero figure out what's going on at the mysterious Resort before any disastrous things happen?

Chapter 1: Meet Terti

Terti first meeting Snow

Ghastly explains what's happened.

Snow: Ahh, what a lovely day it is right now... *gasp* Well, what makes the Puffle Resort so decked out so early?

???:W-w-w-welcome to th-th-the P-puffle Resort!

???:A-a-allow me to introduce myself...

???:I-I-I'm Terti, t-t-the temporary b-b-boss of the P-P-Puffle Resort!

Terti: I've been w-worried sick, the Puffle Resort seems to be h-h-h-haunted, you see?

Snow takes a look around the unusual Puffle Resort, noticing it appearing rather spooky.

Terti: A-a-as you can see, th-the elevator's broken, so I installed a st-st-stairway to the basement for you.

Snow: Alright, thanks for the info. I'll do the rest of the work!

Snow climbs down to the basement, greeted by Ghastly.

Ghastly: Hi there, Snow! We were tinkering with the switches, when all of a sudden, this happened. Could you help out?

Snow: No problem.

Snow fixes the switches, and the Elevator starts working, only for him to be greeted by Terti.

Terti: Oh, wow! That's most likely one of the fastest fixes I've seen! Great job!

Ghastly: So THIS is the fella who's gonna help you out, eh? Good luck!

Little does our hero know that Ghastly was foreshadowing...

Snow: It's nothing.

Chapter 2: The Fear Of 13

The fires started burning like there was some other-worldy force.

Terti: My signals detect strange activity from the fourth floor!

Snow: I'm headed there, then.

Terti: Also, these signals are detecting that there are... th-th-th-th... THIRT-THIRTEEN FLAMES!

Snow: Easy.

Terti: B-b-best wis-wishes!

Snow arrives at floor four , and to his surprise, the candles started lighting, one by one.

Snow: Alright then, let's do this!

Snow extinguishes all the thirteen flames, only to be greeted by Terti again.

Terti: Wow... I was expecting nothing less of you, b-b-b-b-buddy!

Snow: Alright... that was quite unusual!

Chapter 3: Destination Paranormal

The luggage seems a bit unusual, but despite that, it's pretty cool up there.

Snow and Terti arrive at floor 5, in the midst of a conversation between Ghastly and Peeka.

Ghastly: So Peeka, what do you suppose that Terti's up to?

Peeka: Well, remember the dog and prepare the stick!

The two turn to see Terti and Snow.

Terti: Aah! Wh-wh-what are t-t-those?

Snow: Looks like someone left their luggage.

Snow: I'll see what's inside.

From out of the boxes come flying several ghost Puffles.

Haunt Puffie: About time someone came to save us!

Spooker: I've been spooked!

Ghastly: Well, would you look at that! Not even I could open that thing!

Chapter 4: Tectonic Dishes?

Snow and Ghastly are investigating before going further.

Snow: Now that that's over with...

Terti: Wait! My Para-Activ 3000 is getting reports of strange activity on the 6th floor! Oh my!

Snow: *facepalms* What now?

Terti: The Dining Hall is filled with plates, (i know best tour ever featured quote 2016) but apparently someone's rearranged the plates so light will reflect off of them, then if one is to match them, a door opens, revealing a machine part...

Snow: All for another machine part.

Terti: Yes, dunno why, but yes!

Snow: So if that's the case...

Snow: I'd guess I'm going to have to put everything into plate.

Terti: Haha. Very funny. But now's NOT the time!

Snow: Got it.

Terti: You can DO it!

Snow enters the 6th floor, finding out, to his surprise, the plates moving themselves.

Ghastly: Aaugh! Not again! These pranks are getting OUT-OF-OUR-NONEXISTENT-HANDS!

Snow: This seems much more unusual, but I know what to do.

Snow hops on a table, and moves the plate carefully...

Snow: YES!

You don't have to scream.

Snow: I can do what I want, right?

Snow: Alright. Moving on, there's some plates that need moving!

And so he did just that.

And who is at the elevator once more but Terti.

Terti: Oh, THAT's what it meant! That clears up my mind quite a lot! Good thing I have you here!

Notice that Terti's stopped stuttering.

Ghastly: Oh my! That was impressive! Now, I have a bone to pick with whoever did that! (yet I have no bones in reality, I'm a ghost.)

Terti: Y-y-y-you again? D-d-don't you ev-ever giv-give u-up?

Ghastly: How could you say such a thing? I did nothing wrong!

Terti: *sigh*

Chapter 5: Twisted- the story of Ballet

Snow: Ahh, great. ANOTHER puzzle. Can we stop?

Terti: Not if you wanna know what's happening, we can't!

Snow: Alright...

Terti: I think we're to follow those obvious signs.

So they did just that, only to find themselves tangled up with their prize.

Snow: That was easy...

Terti: Tell me about it.

Snow: Now let's go!

I do say that Terti appearing in the elevator AFTER Snow's done is a bit cliche now.

Chapter 6: Do the Pumpkin Smash!

Snow: Oh my. That's one two many pumpkins.

Snow: Well, Terti's untangling himself, so I'll have to smash these... uhh... plants... all by myself.

Snow: TAKE THAT, YOU HAUNTED PUMPKIN!

And he smashed and smashed on, eventually leaving one pumpkin.

Snow: Huh-cha!

Ghastly: Wha??? Those were HAUNTED?

...and there's Terti.

Terti: I'm quite impressed. You did well with those pumpkins. I knew someone was behind this!

Chapter 7: Be very quite (misspelling intended).

Terti: Shh! This is the library!

Snow: I must find another way.

Terti: Huh.

Snow walks through a gate and finds himself by the prize.

Snow: That's that!

And so they're off.

Chapter 8: Luxurious Room

Once again, we see Ghastly and Peeka in the middle of a conversation.

Ghastly: Do you suppose Terti's doing something to trap us?

Peeka: I've said it once, I'll say it again: Speak of the wolf, and the wolf's at the door.

Terti: Well, well, well... trying to speak bad about me?

Terti: I'm no evildoer, unlike that nasty Skip of that Puffle Hotel, at least.

Terti: I'm trying to solve this mystery too!

Snow: Yes. Terti's toughened up quite a bit with me on his side.

Terti: He makes a good point.

Snow: Before anything out-of-hand happens, we'd best get going.

So they did.

Chapter 9: The Statue of Prophecy

You weren't expecting the link to be there, were you? Too bad.

Snow: *gasp* Are we there yet?

???: To get the final piece from me is much easier than it should be.

???: I'll let you take take the prize, you see, as long as you listen to me.

Snow: Got it.

???: The story from long ago tells me about a puffle named Snow.

???: On the eve of Hallows, here we go, up the floors they shall go.

???: A wonderful machine shall they make, but it's not as easy as cake.

???: The Resort's boss is on vacay, so Terti's here to save the day.

???: However, with a switch's flick, Terti changes really quick.

???: Terti grows a monstrous size, the ghost Puffles will have their demise.

???: And the hero's snowballs go, only 5 shall he throw.

???: Terti's life will be saved, the Ghost Puffles become so brave that

???: Terti disappears in darkness then, the ghost puffles banished him.

Chapter 10: The BIG Setup

Snow: Alright, so what now?

Terti: Let's get this machine set up, that's what!

They did that very well.

Terti: Up we go!

And they land at floor 13.

Snow: Oh my.

Terti: Nothing to worry about, it's just the machine- wait. What does this switch do?

As the statue predicted-

???: See? I never lie. Look at that, oh me, oh my!

-Terti became a big, bad ghost!

Terti: HAHAHAHAHA!

Snow: Aah! Terti?

Terti: Don't listen to-- YOU FOOL! YOU'RE IN MY CLUTCHES NOW!

Snow: Well then. Only one way to solve this.

And there's Rapto.

Rapto: Prepare yourself, monstrous excuse of a puffle!

Terti: That's the ticket, bud- WHAT DID YOU JUST CALL ME, FOOLISH CREATURE?

Rapto: I put my game face on, buddy. It's going down to B1.

Rapto juggles five snowballs, each aiming for a different spot on floor 13.

Terti: And one hits the power circui- NOT THE POWER CIRCUIT! IT'S FREE! NO!

Terti: And another broke the shie- NOT THE SHIELD! THAT WAS TO TRAP THE GHOST PUFFLES FOREVER!

Terti: One hit the trash- HA, HA! YOU MISSED ME!

Terti: One hit the pressure dete- THAT TOOK AGES TO MAKE! YOU MONSTROUS EXCUSE OF A CREATURE THAT THE BOF WAS LAZY ENOUGH TO MAKE!

Terti: And bravo! That should stop this beastly- NOOOOOO!

And Terti falls down, deeply wounded.

As the prophecy predicted once again-

???: As I said, I'm always right! Merry WalrusHalloween to all, and to all, a good night!

-the ghost Puffles surrounded Terti... but the prophecy was wrong!

???: Aww, come on! The one time I was right... Nothing is as it seems, to all, good night!

Terti wasn't banished!

Terti: I promise, the last thing I'll ever do is flick a switch that seems suspicious.

Snow: Indeed. I'm gonna have nightmares from that... incident.

Terti: Well then, I guess we'll part ways. It was nice meeting you!

Snow: I'm assuming we'll see each other around...

Terti: Also, spoiler alert, but you haven't seen the last of me!

Snow: Not sure when that'll be, though.

Snow: Anyone needs to know this very common phrase: The only thing to fear is fear itself... also fear spiders if you've got arachnophobia.

Epilogue

Snow: Well, that was unusual, to say the least. Let's hope it's over now.

FrostByte: Oh, hey there, Snow! Where have you been?

Snow: I just hope it's over...

FrostByte: Wait... what's that? A machine part? Where'd that come from?

A small TV came out of the machine part, and SnoX's henchman, DigiPuffle 2.0 said, "You win this time... muahahahaha!"

Right after, an X briefly appeared on the screen, and then the machine part self-destructed.

Snow: Uhh, okay... so SnoX was behind this after all!

So I guess SnoX was the real problem, not Terti.
