The Shops Reich is what would have happened if Slender had founded Shops in 2011, instead of Ben 100022.

History

For some unknown reason, Slender founded Shops Island instead of Ben back in 2010. He made himself the first President and built cities on the island, with Shops City as the capital. Back then, the Reich was known in a far humbler name called the "State of Shops". However, thanks to the early immigration of the economy genius Bro, the economy skyrocketed by over 650% in September 2010. The immigration rate was really high, especially since the USA and many other nations were suffering from economic recessions and wide unemployment. Because of that, most of the immigrants were Antarcticans, which was the cause of Shops' Antarctican-like culture.

Slender quickly made Bro the Vice President. By the time of Bro's inauguration, Slender was a kind and humble penguin who preferred to live in his house instead of having an official residence and took only about 200 Wiki-Buck$ per month as his official salary, just one time more than the mandatory salaries given to citizens. However, one week after that, he completely changed. The President became very temperamental. He also developed a sudden lust for power and wealth. Slender was not satisfied with a small island nation of 3 million citizens. He wants Shops to be more powerful. He wants the SIA to be feared across Antarctica. He wants everyone to worship him. Above all, he wants to control and own the Multiverse.

Since he promised to retire from the Presidency for one term to allow others to have a chance to become President, Slender kept it and took the position of "War Chief of Shops Island" instead, giving him full command of the Shops Island Armies (SIA). Originally, the young albino penguin changed his mind and decided to retire into a position with less responsibilities yet powerful at the same time. However, the founder changed his mind when the new President, someone named Catali2011, asked the Common Legislature to sack Slender, confiscate all of his assets, transfer the 6 million WB$ in the founder's bank account into Catali's own account and banish him from the island. Fortunately, the Legislature ignored this demand. The new President soon proved to be a nuisance, even forcing others to buy from his business. Slender had enough of it. When Catali built an extravagant, 35 billion WB$ Presidential Palace for himself with state funds, Slender noticed that the security of the Palace was made up of SIA soldiers. The night after he moved into the new Palace, Catali suddenly disappeared, never to be heard from again. Only Slender and some deceased SIA Agents knew what happened. No, Slender didn't kill them. He sent them to a dangerous mission to bomb a nation's capital city when they got killed in action. Slender thought that the agents involved in the overthrow were undefeatable.

After all that mysterious sthuff, Slender, along with a large amount of SIA soldiers and tanks, arrived at the Common Legislature's building. There, he inaugurated himself as President again. He also rewrote the Constitution to the current version. Soon, a massive military expansion started. At the same time, the President annexed islands in the Shops Sea. Other than that, it also bought territories on the Antarctic mainland for himself.

For some unknown reason, the Great Yowien War started and the State of Shops joined the conflict. It ended up receiving a large portion of Yow, since Shops was the most powerful belligerent in the conflict. Somehow, Slender also conquered the German States. After that, the President, an Alemanian himself, established the "Shops Reich".

Disestablishment and Imperial Period

In 2018, Slender's eldest son - Slender II was born. Ten years later, Slender II was made co-president along with Slender. By now, Slender already conquered Freezeland and Polaris, gaining a stronghold in the mainland. He also annexed the entire Asiapelago to his Reich. The Shops Reich was the most powerful nation in Antarctica.

In 2030, Slender unleashed the "Continental Act", which was simply a full-scale invasion and annexation of the Antarctic continent. Using Blitzkrieg tactics, the SIA conquered Antarctica and Club Penguin Island in 4 months. After the victory, Slender renamed the "Shops Reich" to the "First Shopper Empire", with himself as the "Emperor of the Shoppers". He made Slender II Crown Prince.

Shopper aggression started to grow. The Imperial Period was when Slender's lust for power reached its peak. The new Emperor simply executed the Masters of the Universe and took control of the Fanon World. With himself in full control of the World, Slender easily annexed the remaining nations easily. This wasn't enough to satisfy him. The Emperor colonized several galaxies in the outer space. However, even an evil villain like Slender will fall from power.

One year after the intergalactical conquest, Slender suddenly collapsed when he was planning to conquer the entire Multiverse at his throne room. He got up a few minutes later, but found out that his heart stopped beating. Realizing that his death was near, Slender ordered himself to be made "Eternal President of the Reich", embalmed, given the largest funeral in history and put on display inside a golden coffin. When he died, Slender II succeeded him as Emperor. Slender Junior carried out his father's wishes, reversed the monarchy back into the dictatorship-like government of 2014. He also granted most of the nations freedom, reversing the Shops Reich to its version as of 2015, after the conquest of Freezeland and Polaris. However, he kept the space colonies. The year was 2034. Slender's Shopper Empire was truly worse than any nations in history.

Politics

The government of the Shops Reich is officially a 'totalitarian, nationalist, right-wing presidential empire'. However, the statement is half true. Most of the unrelated possible successors of Slender (who are all given the position of Vice President) have centrist or even leftist political views and often do their tasks in accordance to their political views. However, leftist politicians trying to run for office always found themselves being hunted down and shot by the SIA. This had led to cries of unfairness.

If there're things that the Reich's government didn't add to the statement, they are 'kleptocratic' and 'autocratic'. Despite the numerous ministries and political offices of the Shops Reich, the person who wields absolute power is the President. The Constitution is specifically altered to make sure that the President has unlimited control over his Reich. To some extent, it also glorifies Slender, the murderous first President and founder of the Reich who writes the entire constitution. He, along with Bro, embezzled trillions of Wiki-Buck$ from the national coffers every year. Their personal wealth and annual income can equally match the national treasury and annual GDP of many nations. The Constitution even indirectly allows Slender and subsequent to treat state funds as personal wealth. Thus, only Bro was going through the risks of impeachment, imprisonment and even execution to embezzle trillions into his bank accounts. However, since Slender already knew of it and ignored it, he is safe, for now.

Since Slender is often seen hanging out with SIA generals, many thought that the Shops Reich is also a military dictatorship, with each governor being granted the rank of 'General' in the SIA. However, aside from a high salary and added influence, army generals don't really have much perks.
