User:TheBroMaster/Promotions and Demotions

As many users and my friends (Areo, Pen, HF and more) have been talking about, I feel Swiss has promoted some users unfairly. So instead of spamming users' talk pages, I'll express my concerns on a blog post.

Only 1 spot was open for bureaucrat, but Swiss promoted both TS (which he suggested) and Amigopen. First off, TS had his vote quite close to a tie; a +2. Amigo, on the other hand, had a +7 and I didn't think he had any against's either (correct me if I'm wrong). This means only Amigo should've been promoted. Also, how did TS skyrocket from a user with no rights, to being 2nd-in-command (as it looks)? He should've earned his plain administrator rights first, then earned his bureaucrat spot from there.

Also, I think Swiss has been abusing his powers; which I think requires demotion. On Shops, I got demoted and blocked for doing the exact thing Swiss is doing to Penblooe: Blocking him for contradicting his ideas/beliefs and being a "nuisance". I feel Swiss should receive the same punishment. Also, he's promoted many users solely because he wanted them to be (Ex: Iceflower, Alex). This is webmasterism and signs of an obvious dictatorship emerging. I thought webmasterism was abolished. For the sake of democracy, I'll set up a little poll here.

(Note: I don't intend for this to be official in any manner. I only wish to use it so I can see what other users think.)

Should Swiss be demoted?

• Promoting everyone that was proposed is not power abuse. I banned PenblooeR because he refused to stop fighting me. And i dont remember banning Alex for anything. Did HF or Pb advise you to do this? What did I ever did to you?

• I fight for the good of the wiki and its people. I do not promote webmasterism; i am against that. I dont like being bullied and will fight back when provoked too much.

• • Nobody advised me to do this. This is my opinion. Also, just because everyone got a + vote doesn't mean they should ALL be promoted. There was 1 slot open, and you promoted both. You should've just promoted the person with the highest vote. • That was posted by Hf. He retired and was demoted. Therefore that legislation isnt official anymore. I guess i added more.

And why is this such a big deal? It is ludicrous and we needcto focus on more important things.

• I'm neutral on this. SN deserves his adminship and bureaucracy (because of his great article, experience) but now SN is well, I'm not gonna say power abuse, that's not a word, but instead he blocked a person for an unvalid reason. • I'm also neutral. Sure, SN did promote everyone who entered (defeating the purpose of RfA voting) and blocked a person without an "official" reason, I would say that a demotion is too far. By "official" reason, I mean that someone should not be blocked just for bothering someone. In fact, there should be guidelines on banning reasons. • SN is far from being a perfect admin and buraucrat, but tbh, there aren't many users as qualified as him to take the position. He's always active and actually helped the wiki a few times. I just wished he'd be a little less extreme and stopped thinking everyone who's agains his opinions are conspirating against him. I don't have a scheme with HF, I don't want to dethrone you or take overyour country with my army of monkeys. I just hate the way you express your opinions. --PenBlooeR 21:37, 25 October 2012 (UTC)
