Alexandria, formally the Consulate of Alexandria, is a parliamentary merchant republic situated on the Antarctic Peninsula as a free republic associated with the United States, bordering the Antarctic Peninsula as a state and sharing a sea border with Sub-Antarctica. The Alexandrian economy measures at $1.7 trillion as a Gross Domestic Product measured by both purchasing power parity and in nominal Gross Domestic Product by the Fish, used as the currency of Alexandria owing to the Fish's status as currency of the United States as a wider whole including Antarctica alongside several regional currencies held by an assortment of states within the United States. The Alexandrian economy is fuelled almost entirely by Alexandria's position on the Antarctic Sea Trading Route (SABER) as a hub of shipping and as one of the busiest port cities, with several shipping lines based out of Alexandria and dozens more operating regional offices within Alexandria, with the University of Alexandria providing an additional source of the national Gross Domestic Product through its encouragement of international students to study at the university and contribute to the Alexandrian economy with the eventual aim of them becoming naturalised citizens of Alexandria. The Alexandrian Combined Services provides the defence of Alexandria alongside its offensive capacities and capabilities, under the service branches of the Alexandrian Combined Special Command, the Alexandrian Ground Forces, the Alexandrian Nautical Forces, and the Alexandrian Aerial Corps, alongside defensive support provided by the United States. Alexandria is a founding member of the Peninsular Community as a community of cities located throughout the Antarctic Peninsula and Sub-Antarctica, and a member of CONTINUE.

Etymology[edit]
The nomenclature of Alexandria originates in the founder of Alexandria, Alexander the Great, whom lead the first settlers of the city-state to the geographical region in which Alexandria stands in the contemporary day and age. Wilfrid the Great, acting as his deputy and lieutenant in the leadership of the original Foretrekkers to Alexandria, later lead additional bands of settling Foretrekkers to the geographical region, eventually lending his name to the defined administrative and parliamentary constituency of Wilfrid's Cove.
Due to Alexander the Great's prominence as the founder of Alexandria, no genuine attempts of notability have been made to change the name of Alexandria as either a free republic or a city. The name 'City of Lamps' has, however, been used locally and throughout nearby environs as a name for the city, although Alexandria as a name remains in popular use both formally and colloquially.
