User:Zone/Project: Eternal
This is just going to be a log of what's been happening on my end. I need it to keep track of what's going on and it will serve as a notepad for the project.

Listening to: BlazBlue Continuum Shift - Unlimited Hazama
SO I began Project: Eternal, which others will know as Eternal Penguin - the RPG platformer game I am planning to make. Am going to base it off the combat stylings of Yume Nikki Gensou, which can be downloaded at that link. If 128MB is too big of a file, then you should watch this video to get the jist of what the combat styling will be like.
I plan to really begin on the coding and the gameplay during December since I get a 10 week Christmas Holiday break. For now, I'll focus on the storyline and the soundtrack.
Uploaded the main theme to Eternal Penguin on Youtube, which can be heard here.

Listening to: BlazBlue Calamity Trigger - Noel VS Jin
Got all the World 1 music done, began on the storyline. Au contraire my dear reader, most of the OST is remixed, though certain songs like the Main Theme, Mad Castle, and the Final Boss music are not remixed.
Darktan and Nightmare have allied with each other. They think that if they set aside their differences then they would have more of a chance of conquering Antarctica. Both of them share a common goal, after all.
Darktan and Nightmare then merged their armies, and took residence in the dreaded Mad Castle; a medieval gauntlet with guillotines, spiked traps, swinging axes, and other high-security measures. It would appear that Darktan and Nightmare were going overboard with the high security measures simply because they did not want something in that death fortress to be found.
That something, was the Darkness Spire.
The Darkness Spire is a powerful doomsday device that ushers in a wave of darkness throughout Antarctica upon activation. This doomsday device changes the color of the sky from a bright blue to a dark, purple background. The whole of Antarctica is painted in sadness and sorrow. The environment begins to decay, and plant-life on Antarctica, such as O-Berry bushes, begin to rot.
Those who have been consumed by the Darkness Spire turn evil, and are also granted power. Theoretically, Darktan and Nightmare are planning to use the Darkness Spire to create servants - with all the major political leaders turning evil, whose going to stop them? However, all hope is not lost for Antarctica - as a select few penguins, unknowingly have become resistant to the Darkness Spire and its effects. Penguins themselves, are naturally happy creatures. Even in disasters such as the HQ exploding with Popcorn, and Club Penguin's flood, the penguins have pulled through and most of the time, turned a sad situation into a happy situation; even throwing parties about some things that others would find a catastrophe. Even though a good amount of penguins have been consumed by the Darkness Spire, its effects are weak on them due to their happy nature - and some don't even feel the effect of the Darkness Spire whatsoever.
But questions still need to be answered; What powers the Darkness Spire? How did Darktan and Nightmare acquire such a weapon? There had to be a third-party involved; though Darktan and Nightmare; powerful as they are, could never conjure up a weapon as powerful as the Darkness Spire. It's up to a small group of penguins to take back Antarctica, free the other penguins from the Darkness Spire's bane, and unravel the mystery behind Darktan and Nightmare's evil plot.

Listening to: Eternal Penguin - Main Theme
Uploaded the Mad Castle theme, which can be found here
Had to import a whole lot of articles recently. The wiki is the priority, Project: Eternal is the second priority. I hate this whole slow import process, so I just went on a huge crusade (didn't sleep, btw) and imported around 240 articles. I would of imported more, but I couldn't think of anything else to import, nor did I have the physical strength to actually importa nymore. Too tired.
Started to think about gameplay today. How will the game play out, and what worlds will there be. I don't necessarily like the idea of all of the worlds just being snowy and ice related, so I need to find a way to work around that. Canonically wise, Club Penguin has parties that have different themes, like the Water Party for example. Maybe I can work around that and use the party themes as a gateway to other world themes? Probably, but too tired to actually concentrate on that right now.
There will be 9 worlds in total, each containing 10 levels (excluding World 9);
- World 1: Club Penguin Island
- World 2: Candy Land (I'll use the Christmas party theme for this one, i.e. Gingerbread igloos)
- World 3: Zenthexia
- World 4: Snowzerland
- World 5: Volcano (fire Dojo)
- World 6: South Pole City
- World 7: Darktonian Realm
- World 8: Mad Castle
- World 9: NOT TELLING THE NAME OF THIS WORLD DUE TO POSSIBLE SPOILER
Going to make a World Map for the worlds. Just to be unique (and partially, to be cruel as well) I think I'll add in that in every level, you must collect a certain amount of crystals. Lets say, 100 Crystals to each level. You need a certain amount of crystals to go to the next level, so if you were at World 1-1 and you wanted to go to World 1-2, you would need 25 crystals, or something like that.
Every level will have a boss in it, and the 10th level of a world would be the End of World boss. 8x9 is 72, so that would mean 72 bosses, and 9 end of world bosses. That brings up to at least 81 bosses in the game. That's a pretty big number, but User:Explorer claims I'm very good with repetitive tasks, so its not going to be much of a challenge. If I can at least try to include a good amount of fanon characters, whilst keeping the balance of canon involved, I'll be happy because then when I'm finished, nobody can come whining to me saying "OMG WHY DIDNT U INCLUDE ME IN ETERNAL PENGUIN OMG I AM SO ANGSTY RIGHT NOW"

Listening to: Eternal Penguin - Final Boss
Finished the Final Boss music, I REALLY like it. Nice and sad in some areas of the piece. Reasonably fast-paced too, since you are fighting the Final Boss of Eternal Penguin when that music plays. Now that I look back at my previous log, I actually typed the name of World 9, but then I realized that anyone whose been at the wiki for at least a few weeks will know exactly who the final boss is just by looking at the name of World 9. I don't want to spoil it.
Maybe I'll upload the final boss music on youtube depending on how many people actually want me to.
Nothing much happened today. I decided to take a break from Project: Eternal for a bit. Was just gaming with Metalmanager and Sk8itbot on XBOX live. I didn't have much to do on BlazBlue so I just read to them creepypasta I collected. I'm sure at least one of them will have a few nightmares about the stories I told them. Huehuehuehue I'm such a lulzy lulzy troll.
Hmmm, I think I'll get onto drawing some concept art soon. I need to visualize what I plan to do before actually putting it in the game. Need to be able to draw it, too.

Listening to: BlazBlue Continuum Shift - Ragna VS Hazama
Uploaded the Final Boss music to Youtube, which can be viewed here.
Started to draw some concept art too, should upload tomorrow. Currently, I am doing Zone (seeing as I had to make him complicated when I first thought of him >_>) and after, I plan to draw Fudd, Explorer, Imperial Emperor, and others. Still thinking about the plot too.
As said before, you won't see much coming from the project until December, since that's when I will have 10 week holidays and I will be able to concentrate solely on the coding and the game functions. For now, I'll just get the storyline and music out of the road. Going to draw some concept art as well from time to time, feel free to use the Eternal Penguin pictures in articles if your character is drawn - though I'd prefer if you didn't remove the watermark at the bottom.

Listening to: BlazBlue Calamity Trigger - Imperial Code
Sorry for the long wait people, but I've decided to temporarily put Project:Eternal on hiatus. Due to some unforseen circumstances, I can't really work on it that much in the holidays since I am getting a job.
However, don't feel like I'm completely cancelling it! I'll still work on it in the holidays though, its just that it will take a lot slower than I originally anticipated. Release date is still 2011, but for now I'll just work on some concept art huehuehue.
Storyline is finished, soundtrack is finished too. All that's left is the coding and the drawing. Lots of drawing. Everything will still go smoothly. Luckily according to law, I only have to work about 19 days a month. Debating myself whether or not to take those days off, since I need to accumulate around $5,000 by the time I turn 18, which is pretty much a 2 year plan really.
Will continue this project whenever I have the spare time :3

ETERNAL PENGUIN IS CANCELLED.
Disney sent their goons on me, I sent an email to them several weeks ago. I received this message on 26/11/10, which is 11/26/10 for you Americans;
Hello Zone,
Please note that we are not a legal resource and can not give you permission to move forward on this project. I have been in contact with members of our legal team and will get back to you in the next week or so with more information.
In the meantime please know that you are welcome to obtain legal advice from your own lawyer or contact Disney Legal for more information.
Sincerely,
Lisa
Checked my inbox today, and seeing as that message was received on 26th November - its been 3 weeks and they haven't replied. Yeah, I think I get the hint. Kinda sucks because I was just about to begin on the worlds. Had all game code figured out. Also, this might apply to Project: Kwiksilver as well XTUX.
So yeah, good night sweet prince. Zone 09:13, 17 December 2010 (UTC)
