User blog:Bugzy/The Shops Suck
I go onto the recent changes just for a peek, see if there's any interesting articles, and all I see is piles upon piles of... shops? Whose bright idea was this? Wasn't there shops on another wikia... what was it again... oh yeah! CPW! And look at them! Many people (some from this wiki) have complained about the less number of mainspace editing and more userpage editing. A lot of you guys seem to of said in the past; "We're so glad we aren't like CPW!" Too bad you're going on the right course to becoming them.
Why am I against the shops? Few reasons;
- They pile up the recent changes, I classify it as spam.
- The shops offer the most un-needed things. Offering images eh? Then tell me exactly, what is the use of this article? Offer to help with an article? You're lucky I'm not a Bureaucrat, because I would get out my bangun and shoot the whole lot of you down for that. You're more interested in your greed than letting the Wiki flourish.
- I've said it, and a few other people have said it as well; WIKIS AREN'T GAMES! IF YOU WANT TO PLAY A GAME GO PLAY CLUB PENGUIN! WIKIS ARE FOR EDITING AND MAKING ARTICLES! Also, I think I read somewhere about some guy selling a PNG Converter? Microsoft Paint (an application on almost every computer) can convert the files to PNG. Nice scam there, buddy.
And for the people who don't have MSPaint, there's online image converters as well;
- The shops are a prime example of greed. Before the shops, people would be happy to help new people out with articles and such, now they have to actually PAY for help? If I was new, I would leave this place the instant someone said I have to "pay them betatokens" just to help on one little article. Half of the shop offers there aren't needed. And I think a few are offering quality templates on articles. Whoever's doing that, congratulations, you've destroyed the quality purpose. 14:43, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
EDIT: Seems Agentgenius classifies this as "Hate Mail" no, it is not hate mail, I am simply putting up my argument against this idea. If it was hate mail, I would of written it on your talk page. The idea's public and still in beta testing, so people have a right to speak their mind about it.
