Introduction:

Attention, all users. In our midst, is a great article, that has been neglected for years. That article, is the United States of Antarctica. While it was protected to sysop-only edits for almost two years (2012 to 2014), the wiki moved on, focusing more on their own countries. Now, even in continuity, everyone seems to be forgetting about the United States of Antarctica, which should without a doubt always be the most powerful country in Antarctica (well, until the future), as it had been intended. The article, while still impressive, has seemingly fallen into ruin. Back when it was written, it was a literary masterpiece, a Featured Article of the Year. But, we, the wiki of 2016, need to make it a literary masterpiece of today.

So, with that, i'm announcing the United States (of Antarctica) Improvement Project, USIP (prounounced "You-sip"), also can be called the Antarctic Improvement Project (pronounced Ape). We all should know that this is something that needed to happen eventually. Right now, the idea is just to make the USA page magnificent, but eventually could (and should) include reviving everything in the USA's massive amount of related articles.

So, how do we do this?

I think for this article, a center of the wiki, and a humble article that we all should respect, just tweaking the article and moving stuff around won't do. I'm proposing that some of the best writers on this wiki come together to re-write the USA article, to 2016 standards. I think we should keep mostly the same information, but written from scratch in a way that would make even Explorer happy if he were here. I'm thinking that we write it on a different "sandbox" like page, so we can make it perfect before replacing the actual page's content.

My problem, I need help:

I would have taken this challenge on myself, but I know I couldn't do it alone. Either I'd start it and never finish, or I wouldn't do it justice due to my lack of knowledge on certain topics, such as Economy, Military, and even Culture. So, I think the best writers on the wiki in their respective "subjects" should come forth and assist the process. If you wish to help, you can find out how to do so below.

What's the end goal?

Like I said, the end goal should be to bring the page to 2016 standards. Hopefully, make the "new" article one of the best in the whole wiki again, on par with even the best country pages today, if not better. It would update anything needed to be updated, it would tie up any loose ends opened by users over the years in reference to related articles, and it'd give users an idea of exactly what the USA is. We have no time frame for this project, so we might not even start it for months, no less end it soon.

How you can help:

If you are interested in helping this massive project, say so either on this talk page or mine. Please be sure to say what you'd like to help with, and why you'd be a good part of this "team". Since I, and any other administrators who join the project can be considered the "directors", one of us will probably reply. You may not want everyone helping. It's no offence to users, but I'd like this article to be the best it can be, so we may only include the "best" writers in the USA article itself. But, it certainly doesn't hurt to voice your desire to help :)

No matter who's accepted, this project is also going to be one of collaboration among all of our users.

Conclusion:

Thank you all for your time. I hope that you're all interested in helping, and I hope this project can bring the USA article and related articles to new heights. CKSig.pngWannaTalk? 23:21, 12 January 2016 (UTC)
