User blog:Kwiksilver/Please, I need help with this.
Okay. My brother owns this old computer that we've had for ages. Earlier this year it died. It would turn on, but the hard drive wouldn't work. So we left it alone. It's only yesterday I decided to fix it as a holiday project. I inserted the new hard drive, plugged in the cords, and flicked the switch on the power supply to "ON".
Nothing happened. Just one second where the lights flashed and the CPU fan spun, then it conked it. It died.
My dad was very upset as he thought I'd done something to the power supply until I explained it to him. He tried to fix it. Nothing. Just that flicker again. He said the power supply fan was running, though. I've checked the power cable, my power leads, the wall sockets, even the inside of my computer. Everything's fine. It just won't turn on. After checking and re-checking and checking some more, I searched online. Nothing much was helpful.
Most upset was my brother. He's a big fan of online games and has to always use my computer, closing my tabs on this wiki. He said that if I got the computer working, he'd get me Portal for Christmas. I need some help to preserve my wiki time and eat cake! :D
Any solutions?
