This blog post is to discuss the Featured Quote and Picture... of the week - and the User Of The Month. Basically, we had the problem with the Featured Article of the Week last year. The problem was that nobody was voting quick enough, and the week just went by. But then I brought (I didn't actually make it, anybody could of made it) a system (hope I wasn't gloating there...) and the concept of the system was that from Monday to Sunday, there is the vote. And then article with the most votes is the Featured Article from the 7 days after that Sunday, and it goes again and again. So why not do the same for the Featured Quote and Picture and the User Of The Month?

I just wanted to confirm this with everybody. Who agrees? Or should we continue with the current messed-up system? The problem is... ties. I've thought of that, actually. This will only work if.. for example; two articles have three votes each. I don't think there will be three pictures/quotes with (for example) 5 votes each or something like that - very unlikely:

"There will be a particular user that only votes in case of tie-breakers. So if there are two pictures/quotes that have two votes for each, that user will vote for which picture/quote they want to. They will have to choose between the choices they have, and even if they unfortunately don't like any of them, the user will have to vote for atleast one of them, making the one for one side 1 more vote extra. This applies for both the Featured Quote and Picture."

Okay? Is it fair? Well, maybe the tie-breaker part isn't that fair, but it's the only choice we have here. So, who's with this? You should note that if this passes, all the current quotes and pictures will be removed and will be restarted. If this passes, then I'll set out the layout and the neat way of entering your quote and picture. We'll decided now, and then if this passes, the system will begin from the 22nd Feb.
