User blog:TurtleShroom/Dispute Resolution: Defenders Versus CP's Marvel Canon

This bill, TurtleShroom/Dispute Resolution: Defenders Versus CP's Marvel Canon, is currently in commitee. The Wiki's Congress Committee is deciding what to do with it. |
Ahem.
GENTLEMEN.
IT HAS COME TO MY ATTENTION, THROUGH RSS FEEDS, THAT A MINOR DISPUTE HAS SURFACED IN REGARDS TO A CANONICAL CONFLICT.
Contents
The Plan[edit]
Chapter One: the Dispute[edit]
The Defenders is an age-old tale and series of lovable characters penned by Happyface and refined and aided by yours truly, alongside a whole slew of users over the years. While a chunk of the articles are stubs, they were grandfathered several times through and have been propped up with unfulfilled projects and promises to make them all HQAs.
Including but not limited to Iron Walrus (a personal favorite of mine), Titan Turtle, my RedBot article (from the Iron Man Armored Adventures series), and Slanta Furious, these articles are unique and creatively varying from their original sources (the "parodee").
Chapter Two: Laws Applied[edit]
Arguments have arisen into two camps:
- KO the Defenders by new Marvel/CP canonical decrees, which would disappointingly take down HF's brilliance.
- Grandfather the Defenders and ignore CP canonical, which angers me.
Each of these are pulled from our OOC doctrines, and each have equal grounds in our site law.
Since I hate both of these, I'm proposing an alternate, as follows. (I miss being the Webmaster, where my word was law.)
Chapter Three: My Solution =[edit]
So let's have it!
This is what I've decided to do. It won't be fully written or implemented until I myself see the Marvel Party, as (shamefully) advertised.
The following is a draft.
Basically, we're going to merge the two, like this...
- All attributes given to CP/Marvel superheroes, as well as their descriptions and history(ies), will be fused into their current parody. For example, anything CP says, even remotely, about Iron Man will immediately be handed to Iron Walrus. Retroactive continuity ("retcon") will be in full force, so we might have to make some changes to the histories of characters in order to conform to the new dictates of CP. This shouldn't be too hard.
- All superheroes imported by CP will become high-priority parodies for the Defenders, if they are not already in business. Each will receive a Defender counterpart if they haven't already.
- The Defenders, if CP so decrees, will have their base moved to wherever CP says it will be moved. To avoid screwing continuity, we'll simply have the Defenders relocate at the request of EBUL, with obvious incentives and promises for superior bases.
- The base or bases in the Marvel/CP joint venture will become the base or bases of the Defenders, without exception.
This list is almost certainly guaranteed to change as CP rolls out the spoils of being a subsidiary of Disney.
PROBLEM SOLVED. :D
Commentary[edit]
I think it's a good plan, but Iron Man in CP is a penguin, not a walrus... --PenBlooeR 17:54, 24 May 2012 (UTC)

All for the plan! -- 17:54, 24 May 2012 (UTC)
- Not to be a naysayer, but the Defenders no longer is a parody of the Avengers. Yes, it is loosely based off it, however, eventually its branched off to include original characters, and non-Marvel characters. Also, to add, each back story CP will give will be so dumbed down, the Hulk is a friendly guy who gets angry when he drinks too much milk. Thanks, but no thanks. Why don't we just keep the Avengers out of CPFW? We don't fanonize every canon event that occurs in CP, do we? ----Happyface414 (talk|blog|contribs) 20:35, 24 May 2012 (UTC)
- "the Hulk is a friendly guy who gets angry when he drinks too much milk" Uh?
- "Why don't we just keep the Avengers out of CPFW?" Because the policies say we should
- I'm pretty sure not everything is fanonized. I don't see an article on pins, do I? I also don't see a Gift Shop, Mine Shack, Underground, Dragon King, Melmonst, etc etc. We don't fanonize everything, especially parties. If Medieval Party and the multiple Expeditions weren't documented on the Fanon, why should the Superhero takeover be documented? Yes, its Avengers, but we all know it will be a kiddy versions of the Avengers. They will probably rewrite everyone's character. Hulk will be happy, Captain America would've fought the Cookie-Stealers, Iron Man's armor is powered by happiness and sunshine, and Thor will be a guy who like to play dressup. Face it, CP won't be able to make this party happen without changing the characters of every superhero. Hawkeye was removed from the party probably because he carried bow and arrows. If you ask me, the Superhero Takeover Party shouldn't be documented. If anything, more parodies of superheroes should be written in honor of the party. ----Happyface414 (talk|blog|contribs) 21:22, 24 May 2012 (UTC)
- Oh my gosh, Happyface! You didn't see the Medieval Party did you!? Everything in CP has changed. Players were able to buy a sword in the party, and Scorn was a really evil dragon. CP has changed, they're adjusting to the players' wants. I'm sure they didn't include Hawkeye just because they wanted to. Also there is an article about the Gift Shop on the wiki. If I wasn't banned I probably would have written those expeditions too, and finally you're way off on canon. This is exactly why someone like me is needed here! I'm the only one who pays attention to canon, maybe other than TS. --

- Feey, I certainly defend the swords and weaponry, but Scorn wasn't an actual dragon or historical figure. In-character and out, Scorn was a machine and a will-written, brilliant ploy to entertain and delight the partygoing masses of Club Penguin. He was not, nor will he ever be, an actual threat or danger. The CPFW interpretation of Scorn is that he was G's best machine yet, and that EBUL really pulled out all the stops to work alongside Castillia or whoever else sponsors the Medieval Party.
- And were the swords used? Until there is actually violence in the game, may it be slapstick humor or total annihilation, I'm still regarding CP as a game for under 10 year olds. Also, big whup, you have one article made from my list. 20%. In pretty much all schools, that is considered a FAILURE. ----Happyface414 (talk|blog|contribs) 21:41, 24 May 2012 (UTC)

"I also don't see a Gift Shop, Mine Shack, Underground, Dragon King, Melmonst, etc etc." Becuase nobody created them yet. And Feey wanted to write about Medieval stuff such as the Dragon King, but nobody allowed him. And CP is a game for kids 6-12 years old. And you're basing your arguments in theories, things that haven't even happened yet. How can you say that Iron Man's suit will be powered by sunlight and happiness? You haven't seen the party yet, have you? --PenBlooeR 21:52, 24 May 2012 (UTC)

- By the way, what loser denied Feey the right to write about Scorn? Seriously... that's just..... that's a fail on the level of Joe Biden. Heck, I even had some of my own plans for Scorn/Dragon King, talking about his mechanical origins, involving G's Family, and heck, maybe he could have been an AI that had gone rogue, like those DS Bots? --† TurtleShroom™! - GUYS, THEY INCLUDED HAWKEYE. SO THAT MARKS THE SECOND WEAPON ITEM IN THE ENTIRE CP CANON HISTORY. Hello, my name is Star Kirby12. Chat first, ask questions later. - This is madness! Look, I'm sorry TS, but the OOC laws state that if something like this, a canon change that could cause major upheavel in articles is disregarded. This is one of those things, and no, I will not let a policy exeption happen over something as frivolous as this. --Epic Intro Of BlacknessSo Do You Think That Was Epic? - If interpreted correctly, Project X Mark One, the Superhero Party should not exceedingly damage any superhero parody in CP. -and canon is law. If G was declared an only child, the brothers and sisters of G's Family would become his cousins. It's very easy, X. VERY VERY EASY. YOU CAN'T GET MUCH EASIER. So stop whining, because what CP says, GOES. Iron Penguin won't replace Iron Walrus. He'll be an addition, yes, but we can always stuff him in the backseat as Iron Walrus' eager young
space cadetprotege or apprentice with a similar kick-rear suit. See where I'm going? Moving the HQ of The Defenders to some place in CP, according to canon dictates, is not hard. Adding penguin based canon heroes of existing parodies (e.g. Iron Penguin for Iron Walrus) IS NOT HARD. -and if all else fails, then consarn it man, I'LL WRITE IT MYSELF, BECAUSE THERE IS SOME CANON COMING AND IT AIN'T GONE BE STOPPED. --† TurtleShroom™!
