User talk:HermososoBenja
Hi, HermososoBenja!
Welcome to the Club Penguin Fanon Wiki! We hope you can make continuing contributions of articles and/or discussion and other improvements.
If you are new to wikis in general, be sure to visit the "Community portal" for an outline of some of the main parts of the site and a link to pages that tell you how to edit.
Many useful tools and fun pages can be seen to the left, under the logo. Named the Sidebar, clicking on a blue link will take you to the page of choice.
Do keep an eye on the "recent changes" page, where all edits and their authors (both anonymous and signed-in) are listed. Bookmark it, maybe. (And help delete spam and vandalism - unpleasant but a fact of life.)
Discussion of any aspect of the site, and inquiries, can be made at Talk:Main_Page or on the "discussion" page associated with each article. It helps if you sign and date your contributions there, so that readers know "who to talk to" and whether your message is probably still of current interest. If you write on a user's "talk" page, that user will get an alerting message on next visit.
Remember to sign every discussion or talk page with four tildes (~~~~).
Feel free to fill out your user page so we can learn more about you.
As a Fanon Wiki, we encourage creative writing. To see what great pages are like, see the High(on the toolbar to the left) and Ultra Quality articles, for example the articles United States of Antarctica, Club Penguin Island, and Dorkugal.
We also have laws. Please read the Policy and OOC for more.
- There are certain groups of users who handle this wiki. They are our administrators. Respect them, not just some of them.
Please read the new user guide to help you guide your way throughout the wiki.
We highly encourage you collaborate with other users, as collaborations built this wiki up.
Please remember that, unlike Wikipedia, the Club Penguin Fanon Wiki is censored.
We encourage your edits!
Thanks! And, once again, welcome to the Club Penguin Fanon Wiki!

Welcome to the Fanon wiki![edit]
Hey Hermososo! I'm Cp kid (you can call me CK, most everyone does), an admin here on Fanon. I saw that you recently created your account and made some edits, which is fantastic! I looked over the contributions you made, and they were great for a user's first edits.
Since you're new, I figured I'd give you some tips for editing, participating in the community, basically whatever comes to my mind as I'm writing this (lol):
- Don't be afraid to introduce yourself! You can message users on their talk pages, talk to people on the IRC, create and expand your userpage, and much more. Introducing yourself to the community and being friendly is a great way to get started on the wiki, and could even start a few friendships! Not to mention,
most of uswe don't bite! :P
- You can write whatever you'd like on your userpage, so long as it abides by our policies (so no swearing, inappropriate content, etc). However, it's usually used as a page for users to say stuff about themselves. Some examples include... Your nationality (we have users from all over the world), your age (granted that you're 13 or older), hobbies, information about your Club Penguin account(s) (such as when they were created, favorite stuff on CP, etc), and other things you might like in real life.
- Don't be afraid to edit! Now, there might be some complications with this one, but that's ok for new users. To be honest, I feel like maybe you've been viewing our articles as an IP, since you knew to add the canon and fair game categories to the Gamma Gal article. But, in case you don't know, here are the general guidelines. You can edit any article labelled as "fair game" at will, within reason. Any article with an "adopted" template at the top means that the specified users has OOC power over the article, You'll learn more about that soon. You can still edit those articles, but if the OOC holder doesn't like or agree with your edits they are allowed to revert them- so a good idea might be to message the ooc holder and ask if you can add something beforehand.
- Story writing is a big part of the wiki. You don't have to write stories on the wiki, but it's encouraged, and it's a good way to introduce new characters into the wiki (or feature old ones). Don't be afraid to write stories just because you're new, many users have greatly improved their writing skills by... writing. Even if they weren't very good in the beginning. Keep in mind though, that the story should try to stay in continuity (essentially... a wiki timeline of how everything is. for example, you couldn't say the CP Halloween Party 2006 happened in mid-2008), and to use a certain location or character (if they don't belong to you, and aren't in fair game) you must ask the current OOC holder for permission first. If there is no active OOC holder (no adoption template, and the article creator left years ago), you may use those articles in your story as they are technically in fair game (but don't add the fair game category to those articles).
- Here are some abbreviations or terms that you might see on the wiki, and what they probably mean:
- CP- Club Penguin
- CPFW- Club Penguin Fanon Wiki (this wiki)
- CPWN- Club Penguin Wiki Network (the group of wikis that Fanon is a part of)
- IRC- Internet Relay Chat, it's an internet chat room where users can talk to each other in real time! Don't worry, it doesn't use microphones, cameras, or anything like that, and inappropriate discussion and cursing is strictly prohibited as well.
- OOC- Out of Character. A policy on the wiki that states how to determine who has "control" over an article, so to speak.
- Fair game- Articles that are free to use and edit anywhere on the wiki, within reason. All canon (official CP) topics are automatically fair game, but users can also choose to put their articles in fair game.
- Things to read. Yeah, I know this part might be boring, but i'm not asking you to read the whole policy or terms of use or anything. These are just helpful things that I highly suggest you read, they'll probably help you understand things a bit better.
- The full OOC Policy
- Generic rules if you don't want to read all the policies
- Our IRC Channel! Feel free to check it out and see what you think! I'm usually there at night in my time (US Eastern Standard Time), but depending on the time of day for our users around the world, there could be somebody on at any given time.
I know this is a really long message, sorry about that. I'm just trying to be kind and help you with some initial stuff. If you need help with anything, have questions about anything, or just want to talk, feel free to drop by my talk page and leave me a message. Have fun, and welcome to the wiki!
