Suggestion[edit]

If you can't edit the interface to make it do this, that's fine.

You should turn the history section of each page into a sort of mini-recentchanges. It's like Special:RecentChanges, except focused on the edits that were made to a single page. Or you could add an extension to RecentChanges to specify articles, and possibly users, too.

Just a suggestion; I think it would be very convenient if you implemented it. Yours Truly, Explorer 767 (ALL RISE FOR THE DULCIMER OF JUSTICE!) View this template 00:21, 9 November 2010 (UTC)

Also, you should add the CreatePage templates system or something like that to the interface. It's really helpful. Yours Truly, Explorer 767 (ALL RISE FOR THE DULCIMER OF JUSTICE!) View this template 02:01, 9 November 2010 (UTC)

Oldwiki Cutoff[edit]

Some new users are still editing on the old wikis (ergh). I've tried to tell one of them, but they just don't listen. How are we supposed to keep them from editing the old site? Yours Truly, Explorer 767 (STUPID INTERNET EXPLORER!) View this template 11:45, 17 November 2010 (UTC)

Also, not all of my edits (mainspace edits = approx. 3000) have been imported. =(

Is that because the importing isn't finished yet, or some other reason? Yours Truly, Explorer 767 (STUPID INTERNET EXPLORER!) View this template 12:06, 17 November 2010 (UTC)

Fonts[edit]

Since you are a member of the staff, I would like to ask a favour of you.

If you are able to add fonts, then please add this epic font to the fonts that we can use.

Please respond and if you get it uploaded, please tell me how to use it. --XTUX is on teh job! 23:37, 26 November 2010 (UTC)

Re:Re:Font[edit]

Is there some way that we could make the site automaticly download an ActiveX in the background that would install the font? Or could we set it to automaticly download and install the font so that visitors could see it?--XTUX is on teh job! 23:54, 26 November 2010 (UTC)

Skin[edit]

Hello there!

I somehow ended up as a sysop and I've been planning on working on our skin or sidebar.

But first, I have a few questions.

1st, do I need MediaWiki?

2nd, is work already being done on a skin (so that I don't interfere)

And 3rd, if we can make in-universe websites, how would I get my website for Projet:Kwiksilver submitted to you guys to host it?

--XTUX is on teh job! 05:37, 30 November 2010 (UTC)

Excuse me...[edit]

I was wondering, but exactily what MediaWiki page (or template) shows the "You have New Message" notification?--XTUX is on teh job! 02:17, 1 December 2010 (UTC)

It's not much of a gift, but...[edit]

I have decided to give Linux a second chance on a machine that has a working Internet connection and full ability to run Linux.

It's an old laptop, very thick, and it runs Windows XP Home Edition. I am prepared to consent to communism and format its OS in favor of such an anti-capitalistic operating system, so that I can make your day and expereiment in the world of computers.

When time so allows for you to do so, please contact me and we'll get started.

RE: RE: Your C-Mas gift[edit]

Ah, so you like my gift! I'd be honored to give it a shot.

Tonight isn't a good time (I expected a slow reply), but I'm sure I'll try and squeeze it in on Saturady.

As a man of my word, let me lay down this promise: I will own one working Linux by my eighteenth birthday. (That's by June.)

I never back off my word, so this WILL happen, sooner or later. I hope sooner, but right now, I have twenty five minutes before dinner.

Corrupt[edit]

First of all, I find the entire mass demotion impractical and honestly an unintelligent idea, this being because if you have too many admins, getting rid of every single one will only create more problems (i.e, admins won't be around when needed). Reserve admins; admins that are promoted when needed. You know where I, Kwiksilver, Zone and Agent Johnson are from (there are more but these are the main ones), we are in a different time zone, and people like you aren't on when I am most active (such as right now as I write this message).

I am fine with being demoted, but to be told I could stay then OOP I'm staying as admin then OOP I'm reserve admin. Well, OOP, GUESS WHAT. I am also not import. Which is just stupid, since the decision has been made that it should be default.

But, what even sparked this mass demotion? Demote about 4 admins and maybe some crats and we're fine, but no, we have to demote mostly all our staff? I am calling it staff because I have been a worker, not a user, worker here since I joined. This is not an insult, it just means I take it seriously. You know I have the proper experience to be good, I was bureaucrat for most of the time on this wiki (not site, wiki) and the rest was spent as admin. The reasons for demotion are also incredibly incompitant. "Did not use powers". Really? So it's my fault I couldn't find anything to do? I have said many times before, I cannot force myself into a situation where I must use my powers.

This is not a plea for re-promotion, I find my demotion fair, but ending up with no import? And also, the mass demotion plan is completely corrupt and impractical. I will finish with this.

It's not how many admins you have now, it's many little admins you'll have after this is finished.

(I have sent this to Leader/Agent Johnson also.)

P.S: This message was sent to TS and Explorer, but I was redirected to you.

Corruption from too many[edit]

You claim that too many people is what corrupts, and not power in the hands of one? As that one with power, let me tell you that you are COMPLETELY AND TOTALLY WRONG.

You want sources that many is better? Here, have one of the best sources on this planet!

I could find more, but then I wouldn't be naming them from my head or from my faith.

You have assumed a very arrogant and very annoying high horse, ZW. To decide who makes a good ruler and how many rulers there should be is NOT your call, and you should back off and let us decide how to be governed.

You and Agent Johnson have committed unspeakable crimes, but only Agent Johnson is falling for now.

RE:a PSA[edit]

How do U do that (with the CSS)? Plus, I don't think many people have images turned off these days, and it looks much better to me.--XTUX is on teh job! 18:54, 29 December 2010 (UTC)

Your project[edit]

I have seen that you are planning on making a CPFW FPS.

Since you wish to use an engine that may work on bottom-end PCs, I introduce to you...

THE CUBE ENGINE!

It runs on bottom-end PCs, has better graphics then Doom, is entirely free and open-source, and contains a built-in map editor.

What more could you want for a good low-end engine (LOL)?

IRC[edit]

I can't log into IRC, the picture thingamabob that you have to type in the words below won't show up. Since you're pretty good with this sort of thing, do you think you could tell me what is wrong so that I could fix it? Thanks a lot! -- Triskelle3 Talk to me! 22:24, 18 January 2011 (UTC)

Help is on the way![edit]

You need images for your project?

I can help!

Just give a list of images that you need, and I'll whip 'em up for you!

But I also need to know what resolution the images would need to be, the general art style that you are looking for, and what kind of weapons you need.

--XTUX Hun May the bird of paradise fly up yer nose! 22:09, 18 January 2011 (UTC)

Weapon images[edit]

I was wondering what resolution weapon images need to be, and do they have to be drawn from different angles, or for reloading?

Thanks.

Wiki Tools[edit]

Please stop removing those images, as they will serve a funuctional purpose too. You'll see, so please leave them. I put a lot of work into it, and the community likes it. Plus, the changes are not needless, as they DO make the page look better, and even TS let it pass.--XTUX345: "May the Bird of Paradise fly up your nose! Template problems?[edit]

Hi Refractor, this is your first message here in a while eh? I've heard that you're a wikicode/mediawiki expert, so I figured it would be best to ask you for help with some problems I've seen. Right now, it's template problems that seem to have been here for a long while. I don't know exactly how much is wrong with this template, but I know there's that extra quotation mark, which also appears in almost every other infobox with that basic format, which is a lot (so if that problem can be solved, it could be solved for all of the infoboxes with that design). In addition, it seems like the infobox is wider than it should be on certain pages, but i'm not quite sure if that's something with the template coding or not. Another problem I saw was from this template on this page, there's an extra set of curly brackets in there (it's 1:30 AM, I'm too tired to think of a proper name right now).

The next template problem I have is here. The best way I can describe it is- the template doesn't seem to end, if you put other templates below it they will be inside of the border. Examples can be seen here and here. There are numerous other templates with this format, but I'm not sure if they all share the problem (although it wouldn't be too hard to believe).

So, i'm just asking you to take a look at the templates and see if you can find and/or fix anything that you see wrong with them. Thanks for your time and help.

P.S. On the character infobox, it also seems as though the Birth parameter for birth date isn't appearing on some pages (such as the Ninja O'Dark page). Just another specific thing to look into if you have the time. CKSig.pngWannaTalk? 05:41, 22 July 2014 (UTC)

More template problems + interwiki links needed[edit]

Hey Refractor. I'm leaving you a message here just in case you don't appear on IRC. I think to be different I'll list everything I'd like your help with (when you have the spare time).

  • Special:Interwiki. I just wanted to say, I don't see Club Penguin Wiki Network or CPWN anywhere there, and I figured it should exist for the rest of the network (maybe cpwn to avoid conflict with the CPW's CPWN namespace redirect?). And, it would redirect to the CPW's CPWN namespace since that's the closest thing we have to a network hub. It's not really necessary, but it'd be easier to type [[cpwn:Staff]] than it would be to type [[Clubpenguinwiki:CPWN:Staff]].
  • Oh, also, "oldwikifanon" apparently links to CPWikia rather than Fanon wikia according to the URL.
  • Could you take a look at this please? No matter what page that infobox is on, or what the classification code is (endangered, thriving, etc), it has this in some way.
  • Also from my message from last year, the Hochstadt Family template (and most likely the others like it) still have the same problem- But this time I have an image so maybe that can give you a better idea of the problem. Here is what it looks like on the Clovis Hochstadt page for me.
  • Now, the main reason I came here: I know it's probably quite a hassle, but any time that you have free time, could you browse through the subcategories here, to see if you can spot and/or fix any problems?

Thanks for any time you can spare. CKSig.pngWannaTalk? 22:27, 1 March 2015 (UTC)

GIGANTIC ANNOYING ADVERTISEMENTS![edit]

Okay, so I've noticed that there have been these giant ads on the pages, that are causing real problems. I'm not sure how many users have this problem, or if it's just me, but these ads appear small, but really take up a good chunk of the screen. It makes the pages of the wiki load slower, and creates a new window for whatever the ad is for which makes navigating and editing difficult. Furthermore, the sidebar is gone.

Giantad.png

Let me know if you're working on getting this fixed, because it is horrible.

Edit: Apparently it's adware on my computer, and I have deleted "Sales Clipper" from my list of programs, although the ads still persist, so I'm running a scan. I'd appreciate more advice though. Mectrixctic Talk to me! See the articles I worked on.. see my 5,676 edits! 03:59, 18 July 2015 (UTC)
