The Western Island Colonies are a group of islands colonised first by the USA, then later became a Dominion Margate.
Background[edit]
These islands were formed by ice burgs breaking up, just west of the Happyface State. Soon, they came to area where they joined up, forming a few islands. Then, on the 1st of July, a few ships found the old islands. Settlements were set up here, eventually growing into cities. Soon, the archipelago was formally annexed by the USA.
In 2013, the Western Archipelago broke away from the USA and became an independent nation. However, two years later in 2015, the Western Archipelago was hit by an economic downturn. Margate, who was expanding itself at that time, paid off the nation's debts in exchange for annexing it. This led to riots among the island's population, forcing Margate to grant it self-governance and make it a dominion instead.
Government[edit]
The Western Archipelago is a dominion of Margate. The Prime Minister is Jacob1, while the Head of State is Margatian President Frederick Mueller. He is represented by a Governor-General appointed the President. The current governor-general is Philip Fry.
Economy[edit]
The Western Archipelago's economy is reliant on the manufacturing and mining industries, primarily focusing on making electrical items and electronics. It is also rich in copper, aluminum and coal. The archipelago depends on Margate for food, however, as its agriculture sector is quite weak.
