The 2016 Wizzintine mayoral election took place on March 13th and resulted in a razor-thin victory by Penstubal (William) Schneesturm with him retaining position as mayor. This election was a huge shock to the people of Wizzint and Moon Island as virtually all polls showed Ronald Shrimp ahead of Schneesturm, some polls even saying Schneesturm was 7 points behind. However, researchers concluded that turnout among elder votes for Shrimp was only around 47% (virtually half): beside that fact, what also might have contributed to Schneesturm's victory was his 83% young adult turnout.
History[edit]
Wizzint holds mayoral elections every 3 years. In 2013 Penstubal Schneesturm was elected, beating Leo Cheese with a really short point difference; Schneesturm won by only 0.2%. Over the next 3 years Schneesturm conducted massive reforms throughout Wizzint and made it one of the richest cities in the entirety of Shops Island.
